Jam Supporting Agriculture is a monthly subscription to jars of fresh, seasonal preserves. In a CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture)  individuals invest money in a share of a local farm’s produce on a weekly/monthly basis. Members enjoy a surprise basket of whatever is in-season.  By signing up for our JSA, you will receive a jar of jam, jelly, curd, marmalade, chutney, syrup or spread made with seasonal ingredients from local farms.  What will you get? Just like a CSA, whatever is in season! For an idea of the kinds of flavors we’ve done before, check out a list of our past preserves here.  We are truly committed to reducing food waste. Therefore, when you purchase a JSA membership, you know that we worked hard to obtain produce from small-scale, local, sustainable farms; often using their excess produce, which they could not sell at market. Beyond this, each subscriptions helps us continue to provide free and sliding-scale workshops on canning and seasonal foods for low-income families and communities.

Signing Up
You may sign up at any point during the year for 6 or 12 months. Pick up is the last Tuesday of every month, so unless you sign up late in the month, you will receive your first jar the same month you sign up (we will email you letting you know if you’ve signed up too late). So if you sign up July 2nd, you will receive your first jar at the end of July. If you sign up July 28th, you will receive your first jar at the end of August.

6-Month Subscription – $36
With this subscription you will receive a half-pint jar each month for six months, starting whatever month you sign up. Benefits of a 6-month subscription include JSA-exclusive flavors and potential savings of up to $6 (our jars retail at $6-7).

1-Year Subscription – $66
A one-year subscription gets you one half-pint jar of seasonal jam each month for an entire year! Our jams retail between $6-7 so you will essentially be receiving 1-3 jars for free with a year long subscription. The other added benefit is, of course, that you will be receiving JSA-exclusive flavors. You can sign up at any point in the year and your subscription will start that month.

Pick Up
Pick up is the last Tuesday of every month at the following locations:
Bread & Butter - 503 W. Rosemary Street, Chapel Hill – 10am-8pm
Respite - 115 N. Duke Street, Durham – 10am-6pm
Zely & Ritz - 301 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 100, Raleigh – 6pm-10pm
